Mr. Ronald E. Collett, President and CEO, has spent more than 25 years in the electronics industry, where he has held positions in executive management, engineering, marketing and sales. He founded Collett International, Inc. in 1992, a research and consulting company specializing in design technology strategy for semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) companies. He also spent several years at the Dataquest division of the Gartner Group, a technology research and consulting firm, where he oversaw the firm’s activities in the areas EDA, application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
Mr. Collett is recognized as the first to identify and call the industry’s attention to the now well-known “design productivity gap.” He has published more than 100 articles on the design of integrated circuits (ICs) and electronic systems in publications including Electronic Engineering Times, Fabless Forum, Electronic System Design, Nikkei Asia Electronics, Nikkei Electronics and Nikkei Micro Devices. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University and a degree in law from Santa Clara University. He is member of the California Bar.
Mr. Ather Imran Nawaz, General Manager, Global Engineering Operations, has more than 10 years of experience in building, developing and leading large software groups and organizations – most of them globally distributed. Before joining Numetrics, Ather has worked as Manager Software Development for Bentley Systems, a leader in providing Engineering Design software for world’s infrastructure. Ather held technical and operational management positions for various groups in Bentley, including software groups that develop core strategic technologies and platforms for Bentley products. In Numetrics, Ather is responsible for providing technical and operational leadership to the worldwide engineering organization.
Ather is an Agile project management evangelist and a certified Scrum Master. He has many years of experience of managing globally distributed Scrum software teams. Ather is a co-author of research paper on disaster management practices for Agile teams that was published in IBM’s CASCON 2009 in Toronto. He is a regular speaker in various academic institutions on topics that concern role, development and management of Knowledge Workers and various areas of software engineering.
Ather holds a Bachelors degree in Computer System Engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) in Pakistan with Highest Distinction and a Masters in Computer Science from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. He is an honorary member of IEEE Upsilon Pi Epsilon Computer Science Honor Society.
Mr. Steven Gary, Vice President of Professional Services & Product Marketing, has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including IC design and engineering management positions. Prior to joining Numetrics, Mr. Gary managed 3G wireless development programs at Infineon Technologies. Previously, he was vice president of design technology at Zilog, director of marketing at Oak Technology, and design engineering manager for networking and PC products at Advanced Micro Devices. He studied engineering mechanics at the University of Wisconsin, and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and industrial technology from San Jose State University, where he also did graduate work in electrical engineering.
Mr. Alex Silbey, Vice President of Client Engagements, has over 25 years of experience in electronic product development (software, hardware, systems), development processes, business development and sales. Alex is responsible for client engagements, deployment strategy, methodology and Numetrics consulting services at leading-edge electronics and semiconductor companies.
Prior to joining Numetrics, Alex served in key roles at Silicon Graphics/SGI, including leading the Central Engineering and design methodology teams. At SGI, he invented a methodology to develop and deliver the industry’s very first multi-million-gate ICs. Prior to SGI, Alex held senior R&D positions at Supercomputer Systems, which developed the fastest supercomputer in the world. He also worked Gould Electronics, where he codesigned the world’s fastest minicomputer.
Alex has been awarded 14 patents in the areas of computers and networking. He’s spoken at numerous industry conferences and has co-authored two textbooks and several research articles.
Alex is a graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana with an MS degree in Electrical Engineering and two BS degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
